Supply Chain BCM

BCMfort Supply Chain

BCMfort is an application that has been built with Enterprise organisations in mind. It provides a simple means to capture business impact information to inform a series of informed plans that connect and recognize key dependencies and criticalities within and between business units. It is simple to use and available on desktop and mobile phone for business users to work with.

BCMfort utilises a unique Node design, organisations can collect information on each node in the network, so that it can analyze data at different levels and from different perspectives. A node can be an Office, Factory, Distribution Center, Warehouse, Supplier, Supplier of a supplier…

The goal

To assist in the management of operational risk by providing a clear view of the readiness of each business unit and its supporting supply chain, to manage an unacceptable risk. To house the entire group’s business continuity requirements within a single system; To design the BCMfort experience to minimise effort and maximise benefit for end users. To utilise, migrate and maintain useful existing data on business continuity into BCMfort. To enable every risk owner to access and manage their business risks from their mobile phone? To improve the experience in defining risk and the management measures needed to maintain cover.

Proactive and Reactive

BCMfort ensures organisations are prepared by taking both a proactive and reactive approach to risk and ensure business continuity. Organisations must take steps to reduce the likelihood and impact of risk, but also ensure staff know how to react in an emergency.

Centralised storage of all BCM related information in a pragmatic, intuitive solution that will ensure your organisation can manage its BCM programme by consolidating all its data to reduce duplication, no matter the number of staff or locations.

Accountability and transparency

Transparency as the system is audit-able and traceable with logging of all changes to the system. Staff are assigned access by using the user, team, tag and business unit concepts to define the BCM roles and responsibilities.

Robust communication

BCMfort can be configured to contact your staff through email in an emergency. Alternative communication is possible by interfacing with different solutions such as Twilio for SMS and voice notifications. Please contact us for additional information.

Data analysis

Is the organisation’s information up to date, without looking at thousands of lines of code, BCMfort gives Coordinators and users powerful reports and dashboards to ensure that staff stay on top of this important task.

Continual Improvement

Continuous improvement, regarding organisational availability and performance, focuses on improving resilience through continuous and incremental improvements to processes, controls and the mitigation of threats and vulnerabilities.

Total staff involvement

BCMfort embeds BCM with business leaders and staff to ensure commitment to develop and implement the required BCM policies, roles and responsibilities.

Integrated control management

BCMfort integrates additional frameworks controls such as Cyber Security, Health & Safety, and Environmental to further consolidate information.

Resilient staff and systems

A resilient workforce is one that performs well under pressure and deals quickly and efficiently with disruptions. Resilient systems come with careful analysis and implementing controls to ensure availability.

Business Impact Assessment

With the BCMfort workflow, organisations start with a Business Impact Assessment (BIA) to identifies and documents essential products and services; the critical processes and resources required to deliver these; and the recovery plans required to resume normal operations.

Risk Management

We at BCMfort have taken the complex topic of Risk Management and turned it into a manageable cycle that can be used by any organisation. Start with Risk Identification – Risk Assessment – Analyse and evaluate the risks which may disrupt continuity of Resources, then Risk Treatment – Identify and approve risk treatment (Accept, Avoid, Mitigate or Transfer)

Control Management

Once the risk assessment is complete and the threats and resources have been identified and assessed, organisations will often choose to mitigate or transfer risk. BCMfort makes this a simple step to manage within the Control Management module.

Recovery Planning

When a disaster strikes, it is important to plan! How will you get to a safe place? How will you contact one another? How will your business continue to operate? Now that you have identified the risks, you need to set up a recovery plan in the event of an incident. Let preparation dictate your response, not emotions.

Dashboard and reporting

At BCMfort we believe that the easier an application is to use the greater benefit you and your staff will get from it. We have designed the platform to make it easy to see risk throughout your organisation so that you don’t need to hold any additional meetings with an excessive number of people.

Event Management

BCMfort allows staff to manage events from the Event Management Module. These events are linked to BCPs so that the project manager can assess the situation and activate the necessary staff to restore the resources that have been compromised. The response Team then logs into the system to see what tasks have been assigned to them, as the tasks are completed and documented the project managers can track restorations as they occur.

Alert system

If there is an emergency you want one straightforward and practical way to inform everyone, and the BCMfort platform has this feature. When the alert system is activated, it sends out the relevant instructions to the necessary staff to take action against the emergency.

File Manager

Storage is supporting documents to consolidate all your BCM information into one repository. You can link to these materials throughout the system, ensuring the right information is available when required.

BCMfort allows customers to create templates to speed up the process of building the organisation's supply chain and its different nodes. This means when the initial system is created, templates can be linked to Nodes to pre-populate the system with data. Many Processes, Risks, Resources and Controls will be the similar or the same for different Nodes. (Food Suppliers) • Using YAML, you can build templates for o Factories, Warehouses or Suppliers o Or more specific templates for Processes o As new supplier is created, a template could prepopulate the system to reduce manual intervention. BCMfort can assist in creating these templates, which can be created very quickly.

BIG DATA - As a large organisation may hundreds or even thousands of nodes, so automation of data is essential to the success of a large-scale project.  BCMFORT has been developed using the Python Language and the Python Django Framework for its backend Business logic. This also includes using the Django Rest Framework for the restful API.  Information such as Business attributes (Office, Factory, Supplier …), Products and attributes (Category, Type, SAP ID …), Material information (Category, Type, Procurement, QA Manger…), User information (Managers, Editors, Procurement …)

API Documentation is available on request.
